About Us
In August 2022, less than two weeks after my 47th birthday, I received the terrifying news that I had breast cancer. I had believed I was living a ‘relatively’ healthy life, yet suddenly I was facing my own mortality. I had a nine-year-old daughter depending on me, which made the reality even more profound. In those first weeks, fear was overwhelming, but I soon realized that fear is a culturally conditioned response and healing is attainable. I decided that if I wanted to heal, I needed to step out of fear entirely and take full responsibility for the process.
I came to understand that my previous lifestyle and diet had contributed to my illness. Despite thinking I was healthy, I knew I had to completely transform everything I consumed and exposed my body, mind, and soul to. It became clear that the medical doctors were focussed on treating the symptoms (for cancer it is - cut, burn, poison) the root cause was not in their remit. I realised that this part was 100% my responsibility and by healing my lifestyle and ultimately the cause I could have a powerful impact towards reducing or eliminating the chance of recurrence. So began my journey to heal, not just survive, but thrive. The healing was profound. My thoughts changed, my beliefs changed, and I experienced a deep transformation in my health, mindset, and daily habits.
I immersed myself in learning everything I could about how to heal naturally. I fasted, went fully organic, removed all chemicals from my home and personal care products, and nourished my body with whole, healing foods, herbal teas and clean water. I moved my body, practiced breathwork, rested deeply, and explored the lymphatic system’s essential role in immunity and longevity.
I learned about terrain theory, and the body’s ability to maintain balance and selfheal when its internal environment is correctly nurtured right down to the cellular and energetic level. I understood that the body’s natural state is homeostasis, and it constantly works to restore balance, though this can only occur when the body’s internal terrain is healthy and in harmony.
I explored powerful herbs, infusions, and spices, and developed my own tea blends specifically designed to restore my body’s terrain and prevent disease. I incorporated practices like sauna, red light, and near infrared therapy, and using meditation and visualisation, I focused on the outcomes that I wanted and set intentions for my health. I studied and followed the footsteps of those who had healed before me, integrating their wisdom with my own discoveries. I now have a deep desire to share what I had learned and help others access this knowledge to support their own healing and restore their balance.
Tide & Terrain was born from this journey, a brand dedicated to supporting your body’s terrain through thoughtfully crafted herbal teas, therapeutic lymphatic massage, mindful practices, and other products designed to nurture health and restore balance. At the heart of everything we do is the belief that health is supported, not prescribed, and that the body possesses an innate wisdom and intelligence that continually works towards balance and healing. We believe each person is an active participant in their own wellness journey, empowered to create meaningful change through the choices they make each day. The body is an interconnected ecosystem influenced by lifestyle, diet, hydration, movement, breath, sleep, touch, and daily rituals, all of which contribute to the health of its internal terrain. Our therapeutic, organic products are designed to complement and enhance these foundations, supporting rather than directing the healing process. We recognise that lasting wellbeing is not achieved through intensity, quick fixes, or external interventions, but through consistent, cumulative practices that honour the body’s natural capacity for self-regulation. Through education, awareness, and intentional living, we aim to help others build a strong foundation for long-term health, balance, and vitality.
Restore your terrain. Return to flow.
